The Benefits of Exercising Before Work

Was “exercise more” included in your New Year’s Resolutions this year? Well, we’re about a week in now. How’s it going for you? We hope your year got off to a great start and if you wanted to fit exercise into your daily routine, you’re able to find time to do it! Because, honestly, isn’t that one of the most common excuses we use? We didn’t have time to exercise or we were just too busy?

Let’s change that this year! There are quite a few advantages to breaking a sweat in the morning instead of another time of day. So, if you don’t already exercise in the morning and feel like you just don’t have the motivation to do it after a long day of work, try to get up a little earlier and fit it in! The benefits will (hopefully) make up for having to wake up earlier!

Exercising in the morning will set you up for a great day because it increases your energy levels! When you start your day by getting your blood pumping and brain active, you’ll feel more awake throughout the day. And if you’re one of those people who are ready for a nap after lunch, this is especially helpful!

Another great reason to break a sweat before you do anything else is because chances are, there’s not as much going on at that time of day for you. (If you have kids to get ready for school, we know we might sound a little crazy.) Sneaking a workout in during lunch might work great, but will you have emails you have to respond to in the back of your mind? For many of us, the morning is a quiet, calm time. It’s a time when your mind is cleared and you probably won’t have as many distractions as you would during another time of day!

Finally, working out in the mornings can help you sleep better at night! And who doesn’t love a good night’s sleep?? With crazy schedules and busy weeks, it can be hard to turn our brains off and sleep well. If exercising early can help, we’re willing to give it a shot!

We know a morning workout isn’t doable for everyone. But with many benefits, it’s something to consider! We’re going to try to make it a goal to start our day off right by breaking a sweat!
