Stay Active on Social Media When You Don’t Have Time

We love social media. It’s great for businesses and can be a really simple and cheap way to market. But we also know it can be hard for busy small business owners or their employees to post regularly. After all, there are so many things we have to get done in a work day. A Facebook post usually isn’t at the top of a to-do list.

But when social media is a simple and inexpensive way to market, it’s a great tool to use and take advantage of! And since we know you’re busy (hey, we’ve been there) we have a few ways to be consistent on social when you can’t find the time to sit down and create an engaging post!

Plan posts in advance.

We know it might sound impossible to plan your posts for an entire month, but it will help! Schedule a bit of time one day to write some posts and plan your graphics or videos. It will take some time, but then for the rest of the month you know exactly what you’re going to post!  Which will save you quite a bit of time in the long run, right? To help make things a little easier, we’ve created a social media calendar you can download and start planning your posts each month! Major holidays are included as well as some more unique ones you might not normally celebrate, so you can have some fun!

Schedule your social posts.

Facebook allows you to schedule posts so you can schedule an entire month and be done with it! Of course, you’ll still want to check in each day to see if you’re getting any comments or engagement. This is a great way to make sure you’re posting consistently without having to log on during a busy day and come up with something to share.

Research social media trends.

To make sure posting is worth your time and making a difference, do some research and even a little experimenting. Find out exactly who your target market is and what social media networks they use. Post at different times during the day to see what time a post gets the most engagement. Social media is a great tool, but posting just to post won’t always get the results you’re hoping for. Make sure you’re getting the most out of it!

Post across several social media channels.

This won’t always be possible, so you can’t do it with everything. But if you have a post that would work on Facebook and Instagram, share it to both! Plus, you aren’t having to plan two different posts saving you some time! Again, it won’t always work, so make sure it’s a post that will work on each network you’re using.

Ask for help.

If you just can’t seem to stay on top of social media posts, don’t be afraid to ask for help! There are lots of options, whether it’s training someone in your office, hiring a new employee, or asking a marketing firm, like Pulse. 😉 There are benefits to each, so if it is time to ask for help, make sure you know which one would work best for you and your company.

If you’ve been inconsistent on your social media activity, you might be pleasantly surprised to see what happens when you take some time to create posts and be strategic about them! We hope you’re able to use some of these tips and tools to have a great presence on social media!
