Marketing Ideas for the Holidays

If you’ve been reading many of our blogs, then you know great marketing includes being active on social media, having an easy to use website, and reaching out to customers with something like email marketing or video. But if you’re looking to do something a little more to get the word out about your business, the holidays can be a great time to do that! Here are a few things you can do to try to get more attention for your business!

Giveaways
This one is simple and depending on what the giveaway is, it doesn’t have to cost a lot. It’s also simple for a follower to enter. You can ask your Facebook or Instagram followers to like, comment on, or share a post. Once they do any of those, they’re entered! Easy right? Not sure what a winner should receive? Incorporate the holidays! Give them tickets to an event or a decor item (depending on your target audience.) Even if it’s not holiday themed, people love free things, so really, you can’t go wrong!

Contests
Contests are similar to giveaways in that they end up with someone winning. But with contests you can make it a little harder to win. Again, with the holidays here, you can have them guess how many ornaments are on a tree or ask them to take a picture of something festive and choose your favorite one. There are so many ways you could do a contest and it’s a fun way to get people involved without them having to do too much!

Open Houses
We often seen businesses host open houses during the holiday season and it’s a great way to get people in the door. Special deals and discounts are usually involved. The next best thing to free is on sale, right?? You don’t have to have open houses just during the holidays, though. Celebrate an anniversary, showcase a new product, or have one just because! It can be a good way to get someone to visit your business that wouldn’t have otherwise.

Have a class
If you’re an expert in something, why not share a little of your expertise with others! If you sell something for the home, host a class and create something others would love to have in their houses! You can have a limited number of seats available and can make it something you know your target market would enjoy! During the holidays, create a Christmas door hanging or teach a class on how to make Gingerbread cookies!

There are so many ways to get people to see you and your business. It’s a great chance to get creative and have some fun! Did you do something we didn’t include on this list? We’d love to hear what worked for you!
