Have you seen a video lately? Of course you have. Because they’re everywhere! They’re so popular and for good reason. After all, wouldn’t you rather watch a video about a product or service than read about it? So would we! And that’s saying something because we appreciate good content! Here are 5 reasons why you should be using video in your marketing.

Explain it better.
Have you ever tried to explain why something is great in writing, but just can’t find the words to accurately describe it? Just think of how much easier it would be if you’d show what you’re talking about! There’s no need to try to explain new features – show them! 95% of consumers retain communicated information through video, while only 10% retain information from reading. Wow! We think that’s enough to persuade you. But just in case it’s not, keep reading.

Videos can be used anywhere.
One of the biggest reasons we love videos is simply because of where you can use them. Make it a Facebook post, put it on your website home page, add it to an email. The more, the better! If you send a regular email newsletter, your followers might not read all of the text word for word (we hope they do, though!) But chances are, they will watch the video you included.

Engages audience.
We mentioned it earlier, but people are more likely to stop and watch a video than they are to read a lot of text. When you create and include a video in your marketing, it’s almost a guarantee you’ll have a larger audience checking it out. Now we’re not saying the minute you post a video, your inbox will be flooded with inquiries (we wish!) But on a platform like Facebook where you can see results immediately, you will notice it’s getting more attention than your regular posts.

Increase traffic.
Companies utilizing video content experience a 41% increase in traffic through web searches compared to others who don’t use video. And isn’t that the reason why we market? Video is a great, and simple, way to get potential customers to want to learn more about you. More interest, more business. Wah-lah! Thank you video.

Build trust.
Have you ever seen someone in some sort of promotional video and then saw them working when you decided to go with their business? Didn’t you already feel like you were friends? Okay, maybe not friends, but at least like you knew them? Video puts a face behind your brand and forms trust between the company and customer. I’m way more likely to buy from a friend if possible. And while you may not know someone personally after seeing them in a video, it definitely starts to build a great relationship.

I guess we couldn’t stop at 5. A bonus reason to use video? You can make them as professional or personal as you’d like! Whether it’s introducing a new product or showing off your all star team, you can get creative and have some fun! Or stick to the point and keep it simple. Video is versatile like that, so use as you feel fit.
