5 Fall Self-Care Ideas

Welcoming a new season is always fun, but does anyone else feel like Fall totally snuck up on us this year?? Maybe you’ve been so busy and haven’t noticed the change in weather or that coffee shops have started serving the Pumpkin Spice Latte again. Sound like you? It’s time to practice some self-care!

This time of year can be super busy with planning for the Holidays, working hard to meet year-end goals, making goals for next year, and running around to activities, events, and games. No matter what’s got you going a million directions, it’s important to remember to take care of yourself during a hectic time so you can be your best when it’s time to get stuff done. Luckily, there’s plenty of fun ways you can practice Fall self-care this season!

1. Treat yourself to a Fall drink.

Cider and pumpkin spice are a couple of the flavors we associate with fall and if you’re feeling stressed or like you can’t take on one more thing, take a break and get a festive (or your favorite) drink! The best part about this? It’s so easy! Take a 15 minute break, grab a coffee or a hot chocolate, and enjoy some time to yourself.

2. Visit a pumpkin patch.

Okay, we know visiting a pumpkin patch isn’t typically considered self-care. But, picking out the perfect pumpkin for your Fall front porch might be just the thing you need! Sometimes, it’s good to get away for a little bit and not think about everything you have to get done. Have some fun and enjoy the changing colors and festivities!

3. Cheer on your favorite team.

So maybe pumpkin patches aren’t your thing. But what about football? For a lot of people, weekends aren’t complete without a few football games. But if you haven’t been able to watch your favorite team because you’ve been too busy, plan a watch party with friends or get tickets to a game. Getting caught up in a game is a great way to take a break from some of your responsibilities and relax! Unless your team is behind with a few minutes left… 😉

4. Take a self-care Fall walk.

Exercise is a one of the best forms of self-care. Take some time to enjoy the cool, crisp air and falling leaves with a quick walk! If you’re at work and need a break, walk around the block a couple times. The chilly weather will make you feel great and refreshed. You’ll be ready to finish that project!

5. Make yummy Fall treats.

Like to cook? Spend some time in the kitchen after a crazy day. This won’t be good self-care for some people who would rather be anywhere else than the kitchen, but for others it can be a great way to unwind. Use fall veggies, try out a new soup, or bake your favorite treat! Self-care doesn’t always have to be healthy- sometimes it’s good for the soul!

A new season is a good time to take a step back and see how you’re feeling. If it’s not your best, take some time for yourself! Self-care is necessary and there’s no shame in focusing on yourself once in a while. We hope you’re able to find something you love doing! And when you do, share with us on Facebook! We’d love to see what act of self-care makes you feel great!
