Which Social Media Sites Are Best for Your Business?

There are so many social media sites, it can be hard to keep track of them all! Not only does it seem like there are always new ones to be aware of, but we constantly have to learn about the newest updates and features, best ways to reach people on each network, and who’s even using each site. Whew! Social media is a great, simple way to market, but there’s a lot of stuff to take into account when planning posts.

Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, and Twitter are just a few of the options when it comes to social media. So how are you supposed to know which networks to use??

According to HubSpot, Facebook is the platform where users plan to spend the most time this year. Honestly, that came as a bit of a surprise to us considering the year Facebook had in 2018. Maybe that’s why it’s also a site people wouldn’t hesitate to leave. Personal data was obtained, changes in the news feed algorithm caused problems for business pages, and that’s not even everything they experienced! But Facebook has been around for a long time now and many connections have been made on the site which is why users aren’t quick to give it up. It’s a great way to stay in contact with friends and family you don’t see often. Without it, you may never know what’s going on with your best friend from high school or the aunt you don’t see very often. For many users, the issues they’ve been having isn’t worth the disconnect.

Since there are so many users on Facebook, you’ll be available to them if you have an account for your business. Oftentimes, people search for businesses, products, or services on Facebook like they would a search engine which is another good reason to be on social media. If people are looking on Facebook instead of Google, and they can’t find you, you could miss out on new business!

But like everything, Facebook isn’t for everyone. Young people aren’t using the site as much and prefer other networks like Instagram and Snapchat. So, if your target market is young adults, it might be a good idea to focus on creating great Instagram posts.

We love Instagram for a lot of reasons. It’s all about photos and who doesn’t love a great picture? Insta stories can be used with fun features and you can still comment on and like posts to show interest in the people you follow. Users can also search and there are categories they can discover and look at, so even if they don’t follow you, there’s a chance you can be found if they’re interested in what you offer.

So, while there are so many great social media sites you can use, if you want to reach a large audience try having a presence on both Facebook and Instagram. Every site has its own perks and once you find out what works best for you and your business, stick to it and do it well!
